NY State Program Code:

HEGIS Code: 0506.00

CIP Code: 52.0201

(36 credits)

The FLEX MBA (non-STEM designated) program offers students a cutting-edge format in which to obtain their M.B.A. in as little as 12 months. As part of the program, students participate in “problem-solving days” where they integrate what they have learned over the previous semester(s). Our program is designed to equip students with the essential skills, strategic thinking, and innovative mindset needed to tackle complex business issues head-on. In an ever-evolving global economy, the ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems is a critical skill that sets leaders apart. This program goes beyond traditional MBA offerings, placing a strong emphasis on practical problem-solving techniques that empower graduates to excel in a wide range of industries. Students have the option of choosing a specialization by choosing three elective courses from the same specialty, or taking any three electives. See the list of specializations and courses below. Check CLASS or Course Search to confirm which courses are offered in which semester.

This program can be completed in one year, one and a half years, or two years. The one-year schedule is provided below.

Note:

Courses are either 8 weeks long or 15 weeks long. For more information about the Problem-Solving MBA, please contact the Graduate Program Office at (516) 877-4670.

Courses are 3 credits unless noted otherwise.

Pre-Fall 1

Students must take the Economics and Business math modules prior to the first Fall Semester.  Students may also take a qualifying exam to “test out” of either or both of the courses. If a student has taken an advanced-level college course in either subject with a grade of B or better, they may be waived from the module(s). Students without an Accounting background (degree or professional certification) may be required to take an online accounting module and pass a proficiency exam prior to taking ACC600.
