3+3/4+3 Early Assurance Program with the Drexel University-Thomas Kline School of Law

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from Adelphi University/Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas Kline School of Law
The 3+3/4+3 Early Assurance Program can provide for early entrance to a career in law and a clear path to attending Drexel University, a school that has been devoted to learning through experiential experiences. With well over 100 partners in the Philadelphia legal community can provide the necessary background and skills to succeed in obtaining a legal career. The Kline School of Law provides a thorough immersion in the practice of law. Students obtain hundreds of hours of experience in working in corporate office, government agencies, law firms, and the courts and public interest organizations.
After satisfactory completion of the first year of the Thomas Kline School of Law 3+3 Student will transfer credit from law school to Adelphi and receive their baccalaureate degree. After satisfactory completion of the remaining academic requirements at Kline Law, student will receive their law degree.
1. Admissions Process:
- All applicants must have achieved a minimum SAT total score of 1290 with at least 570 on the Math and 600 on the evidenced based reading and writing sections. An ACT score of at least 27 can also be used.
- Applicants must also have achieved a 3.5 high school GPA and also have been in at least 10% of their high school.
- An essay question (s) must also be completed at time of application which is then reviewed by Adelphi University and Kline Law..
- The application deadline for entering freshman is February 1st with exceptions made on a case by case basis.
- All qualified applicants will be invited for a mandatory on campus interview before final acceptance to the EAP can be determined. Please note that the final acceptance to The Thomas Kline School of Law will ultimately rely on an additional application process (see below).
2. Criteria for Remaining in the Program
- Maintain a GPA sufficient to reach at least a 3.4 by the time of application to the Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
- Comply with all academic standards and expectations for student conduct established by Adelphi University.
3-Criteria for Final Admission to the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Drexel University
- EAP students will be admitted to the Thomas R. Kline School of Law if they meet the following criteria:
- Complete all major and core course requirements at Adelphi University, and attain senior status (96 or more credits) before enrolling in courses at Thomas R. Kline School of Law.c.ccc
- Earn a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.4 (as calculated by the Law School Admission Council’s Credential Assembly Service).
- Meet the character and fitness requirements of Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
- Comply with all application, seat deposit, and other deadlines established by Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
- Take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) no later than December of the third year of the program (for 3+3 students), or December of the fourth year of the program (for 4+3 students).
- Earn a LSAT score at least equal to the median LSAT for Drexel’s 1-L class in the year the student was admitted to Adelphi University. (For example, the median LSAT for Drexel’s 2015 entering class was 155. Hypothetically, students admitted to the EAP in the 2016-2017 academic year must score at least a 155 on the LSAT.)
- Students wishing to complete a 3+3 course of study in the EAP must file a binding, early-decision application with Thomas R. Kline School of Law no later than December 1 of their third year in the EAP.
- Students wishing to complete a 4+3 course of study in the EAP must file a non-binding, early-action application with Thomas R. Kline School of Law no later than December 1 of their fourth year in the EAP.
