4+4 Early Acceptance Program (EAP) with the LECOM School of Dental Medicine

Adelphi University has a 4+4 Early Acceptance Program with LECOM School of Dental Medicine (Bradenton, FL) in which students’ study for four years at Adelphi and earn their B.S. or B.A. degree. The Early Acceptance Program is designed to facilitate the admission of Adelphi University students into LECOM’s Doctor of Dental Medicine program. After successful completion of the fourth year at LECOM School of Dental Medicine students are eligible for the D.M.D. degree. High school should apply to Adelphi first and then submit an EAP application with LECOM. Eligibility to this program is limited to 5 first year students.

LECOM School of Dental Medicine Program Admissions Eligibility Requirements 

  • Completion of B.S. or B.A degree with Adelphi and the following pre-requisite coursework at Adelphi:

       o Biology with lab: BIO 111  & BIO 112   
       o Chemistry with lab: CHE 111  & CHE 112  
       o Organic Chemistry with lab: CHE 251  /CHE 253 ;  CHE 252  /CHE 254  
       o Biochemistry with lab: CHE 471  /CHE 473  or BIO 504   
       o 2 English Classes (AP score of 4 or 5 will be accepted)
       o Strongly recommend:
          Physics 1 with lab: PHY 111  or PHY 113 , Genetics: BIO 222 , Cell Biology: BIO 365 , Microbiology: BIO 238 , Anatomy & Physiology: BIO 203  and BIO 204 , Histology and Immunology: BIO 528  

  • Maintain a 3.4 overall GPA and 3.2 science GPA.
  • No final grade below a C in any course.
  • Take the Dental Admission Test (DAT) the summer between the students’ junior and senior year. Must earn an Academic Average that is satisfactory at the time for LECOM School of Dental Medicine.
  • The student must submit a formal ADEA AADSAS centralized application by November 1 of senior year. The supplemental application must be completed by January 1 or senior year.
  • Attend a LECOM On-Campus Day (Bradenton, FL) – Held in August of each year.
  • Must complete a satisfactory interview with LECOM School of Dental Medicine Admissions Committee.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of application.
