Advanced Certificate - Adolescence Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist with Extension

This program will prepare students with a valid NY State teacher certification to become certified as a Generalist in Students with Disabilities Grade 7-12. An optional extension in the content area is available. Additional coursework may be required for the Generalist or Content Extension certificate.

Prerequisite Courses

• EEC (0810) 600 - Introduction to Special Education Credits: 3.00 (25 hrs)

• EEC (0810) 560 - Managing Inclusive Environments Credits: 3.00

• or

• EEC (0810) 710 - Classroom Management Credits: 3.00 (25 hrs)

Core courses to be taken after all prerequisite courses are completed:

• EEC (0810) 700 - Foundations, Families,Cultures and Learning Credits: 3.00 (10 hrs)
• EEC (0810) 720 - Formal and Informal Methods of Assessment Credits: 3.00 (25 hrs)
• EEC (0810) 750 - Methods of Instruction Credits: 3.00 (25 hrs)
