PHI (0154) 406 - Recent Political and Cultural Philosophy of Migration and Immigration

This course examines the history of immigration and its connection to philosophical discourses concerning hospitality, cosmopolitanism, and biopolitics. We will consider the causes of immigration, the social, cultural and economic adaptation of various groups. Return migration, the significance of race, changing government policy and attitudes towards immigrants and ethnic groups.
