The Master’s in Technology Education, Preservice prepares students for careers in teaching technology education, with certification in all grades, Pre-K-12. The program supports students to become effective and passionate teachers who can design robust project-based curriculum, connect across school communities, and inspire their students to think rigorously and creatively about technology education.

The program offers courses online and in-person, allowing candidates to take courses conveniently, allowing them to continue in their current jobs. The program can be completed in one year and includes 30 credits of coursework and student teaching. Candidates benefit from our collaborative partnerships with school districts, our exceptional mentor teachers in the field, and our strong STEM program.

Full time students can complete the program in three semesters.  All courses are 3 credits except for the student teaching seminar, which is 6 credits.

Candidates applying to this program are expected to have an undergraduate major or the equivalent in technology. Upon application to the program, candidates’ transcripts will be evaluated for appropriate coursework required under New York State regulations.
