In-Service, Certification track
The M.S. in Students with Disabilities (SWD) All Grades is an in-service program for classroom teachers certified in an area other than special education. Leads to students with disabilities (SWD) All Grades certification.

Note:
This program leads to Students with disabilities (SWD) all Grades certification. The inservice track is open to candidates who hold a NYS teaching certificate in an area other than special education. All courses are 3 credits. All courses with an * indicate number of required fieldwork hours. Required Foundation Courses
(27 credits) Practicum and Reflective Practice
(3 credits) - EEC (0810) 792 - Practicum in Special Education: Inservice Credits: 3.00 (Fall or Spring)
or - EEC (0810) 793 - Summer Practicum in Special Education: Inservice Credits: 3.00 (only available to certified teachers who are working full-time in general education)
or - Advisor approved elective if teaching experience meets NYS Limited Exemption candidates with prior teaching experience (see note below):
Note: A candidate who is enrolled in a graduate-level program leading to certification in one or more certificates shall be exempt from the requirements for clinical experiences if such candidate satisfies one or more of the following conditions: 1) they have completed a New York State registered teacher preparation program prior to enrollment and hold an Initial and/or Professional certificate 2) hold National Board certification or 3) have at least one year of effective teaching under a valid New York State or out-of-state teaching license or certificate.
