Latin American and Latinx Studies Minor


(18 credits)

The minor in Latin American and Latinx Studies will prepare students for careers in law, education, justice administration, healthcare, social work, and in the area of business and community agencies that interact with people from the diverse cultures of Latin American countries.

The Latin American and Latinx studies minor consists of 18 credits. In addition to LAS 100, a foundational course for all minors, students must take one course in Historical Processes, one course in Literatures & Cultures, one course in Comparative Transformations, and two-electives in consultation with the program director or advisor.

General Note


Students wishing to complete the minor in Latin American and Latinx Studies are encouraged to explore language courses and consider also minoring in Spanish or French.

Choose two from any of the above themes. Students may elect an independent study in consultation with the program director or advisor (6 credits).
