General Education
All students must satisfy the University’s General Education Program in addition to the requirements for the B.S. in Anthropology. Foreign language requirements for the B.A. do not apply to this degree.
Requirements for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Anthropology
Required GPA: 2.0
Credits Required for Major: 61
Credits Required to Graduate: 120
In addition to five required core courses, students will, in consultation with their advisor, complete 45 credits drawing from four area requirements: archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and natural sciences. Core requirements cannot be substituted for area requirements. The field of anthropology is complementary to a number of other offerings at Adelphi providing many opportunities for double majors. Students should contact the department to explore their specific areas of interests.

Choose 45 credits from the following subdisciplines (Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Natural Sciences)
Archaeology (12 credits minimum)
Choose two courses at the 200 or higher level and two at the 300 or higher level.
Biological Anthropology (12 credits minimum)
Chosen from the following:
Cultural Anthropology (9 credits minimum)
Choose 3 courses from the following list with at least one from the 300 level.
Natural Sciences (12 credits)
Choose at least twelve credits from any of the following courses
