This advanced nursing practice post-Masters certificate entails in-depth study of adult-health nursing. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge and practical skills while exploring the issues and forces within the healthcare delivery system that affect the roles of the advanced practice nurse. Students have opportunities to work with advanced practice nurses and other health professionals in a variety of clinical settings. Through the study of the many facets of physical illness and nursing care, this component prepares students to become nurse practitioners in adult health nursing. The program emphasizes scientific inquiry as a tool for building clinical knowledge and testing the validity of the theoretical assumptions underlying nursing practice.
