(18 credits)

The Deaf Studies/ASL minor is designed to provide students with an understanding of deafness, a depth of study in American Sign Language (ASL), and an appreciation for the richness of Deaf culture, including a unique course in ASL in the arts (satisfies the GED Arts distribution requirement). The minor satisfies the four semester language requirement for Arts & Sciences and Education students and elective requirements for students in Communication Disorders.  But more importantly, this minor will expand understanding of the diversity of language and culture for students in any major.
