The 3+3/4+3 Early Assurance Program


Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from Adelphi University/Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas Kline School of Law


Adelphi University has a 3+3 Early Assurance Program with Drexel University – Thomas R. Kline School of Law in which students’ study for three years at Adelphi. After completing 90 credits at Adelphi, students begin their first year of
law school which counts as the final 30 credits needed to be eligible for the bachelor’s degree at Adelphi. The bachelor’s degree will be awarded by Adelphi University after the first year of law school. After successful completion of
the third year at Drexel, students are eligible for their law degree.


There is also a 4+3 Early Assurance Program with Drexel University – Thomas R. Kline School of Law in which students’ study for four years at Adelphi and earn their B.S. or B.A. degree. For more information on the program academic/standardized test requirements and the application deadline, please click here . Eligibility to this program is limited to 10 first year students.

Program Admissions Eligibility Requirements 

  • Students are able to major in any area at Adelphi.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4.
  • Take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) no later than December of the third year of the program (for 3+3 students), or December of the fourth year of the program (for 4+3 students).
  • Earn a Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score at least equal to the median LSAT for Drexel’s 1-L class in the year the student was admitted to Adelphi University.  (For example, the median LSAT for Drexel’s 2015 entering class was 155.  Hypothetically, students admitted to the EAP in the 2015-2016 academic year must score at least a 155 on the LSAT.)
  • The 3+3 program is binding and students must submit an early action Law School application with Thomas R. Kline School of Law no later than December 1 of their junior year.
  • The 4+3 program is non-binding and students must submit an early action Law School application with Thomas R. Kline School of Law no later than December 1 of their senior year.
