All students must satisfy the University’s General Education and foreign language requirements , in addition to the requirements for the major.

Creating Contexts (12 credits)

Literature in Practice (21 credits total)

Additional Explorations (9 credits)

In addition to the above requirements, students will select from the department’s 200- and 300- level offerings to complete the Explorations portion of the major. Of these 9 credits, at least 3 credits must be a 300-level “Literature in Context” or “Critical Perspectives” literature course.  Students may request approval from the chair for a class from outside the major to count as an “Explorations” class.
