This certificate program is meant for individuals considering starting a career in accounting, or looking to move up in their existing accounting career. The program consists of 12 undergraduate courses in accounting and 2 courses in business law. The courses in this certificate may be offered in the evening to meet the needs of working adults. Prior Learning credits cannot be applied to this certificate. Prior to being enrolled, students may transfer in a maximum of 15 credits into the certificate program subject to the approval of the chair of the Department of Accounting & Law.

Application Requirements

Students will be admitted to this certificate program with a completed bachelor’s degree in any discipline other than accounting. Students must meet basic University College undergraduate admissions criteria. In addition to the existing College of Professional and Continuing Studies admissions requirements, interested students must submit an official transcript from a regionally-accredited four-year college that shows successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 2.75 grade point average cumulative for all undergraduate work. Students can be admitted at any time during the academic year.
