The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies is a degree completion program for adult students who have earned a minimum of 60 hours of transferable credits at other institutions. The program is designed for students who have no practical way of completing their degree through traditional, full-time, on-campus study. The Liberal Studies degree program does not have a traditional major. Rather than having a single area of focus as one would with a traditional major, B.A. in Liberal Studies students choose courses in two of seven possible concentrations: literature, psychology, social science, business, emergency services administration, criminal justice and natural sciences.
To graduate, candidates must complete at least 120 credits, 90 of which must be in the liberal arts. The final 30 must be taken at the University and no more than 30 credits may be awarded through Prior Learning. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their concentration and a minimum GPA of 2.0 from Adelphi overall.
