General Education


All students must satisfy the University’s General Education Program  in addition to the requirements for the B.S. in Anthropology. Foreign language requirements for the B.A. do not apply to this degree.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Anthropology


Required GPA: 2.0
Credits Required for Major: 61
Credits Required to Graduate: 120


In addition to five required core courses, students will, in consultation with their advisor, complete 45 credits drawing from four area requirements: archaeology, physical anthropology, cultural anthropology, and natural sciences. Core requirements cannot be substituted for area requirements. The field of anthropology is complementary to a number of other offerings at Adelphi providing many opportunities for double majors. Students should contact the department to explore their specific areas of interests.
