The B.A. in mathematics is designed to give students a broad understanding of mathematics and a strong liberal arts foundation. This degree is designed for students who wish to have a comprehensive foundation in mathematics or students wishing to pursue a career in mathematics education. To graduate with a degree in mathematics, computer science, information systems, or statistics, majors must have a GPA of at least 2.0 in all courses applied to the major, with at most one grade lower than a C–. This applies to those courses that have been taken at Adelphi in fulfillment of degree requirements. Majors in computer and management information systems are required to maintain an average of 2.0 in all courses applied to the major.
Advanced standing may be granted at the discretion of the department.
