To earn the B.A. in Psychology, students must successfully complete the following requirements (details are given below):
- General Education distribution and learning goal classes;
- 17 credits of required foundation classes;
- 12 credits of classes in different domains of psychology;
- 3 credits of a domain elective;
- A Comprehensive Assessment Portfolio (by the end of sophomore year or 60 credits; transfer students advised individually);
- 6 credits of advanced topics seminars;
- 3 credits of a capstone/Senior Experience Applied class.
- 120 credits total.

Comprehensive Assessment Portfolio (CAP)
The Comprehensive Assessment Portfolio (CAP), a requirement for students wishing to continue in the major, is a cumulative record of a student’s work in psychology, based on 6 required courses taken during their first four semesters or 60 credits (transfer students will be advised individually on portfolio requirements). In the semester in which the Psychology CAP will be completed (usually their fourth semester), or the semester immediately following, students register for the CAP course (PIA (0501) 399 ). Students’ CAP will be reviewed by their advisors and those students who are not achieving an adequate level of competency will be offered remediation while enrolled in the CAP course.
The 6 required courses taken for CAP include the following four courses (which are also required core classes for the major):
