The English major has a foreign language requirement, and comprises two tracks: literature and creative writing.

In consultation with an adviser, student should select an English class at the 200, 300, or 400 level. With the approval of the Chairperson of the Program in English, a course in a related discipline, such as history, philosophy, theatre, etc.), a relevant Study Abroad class such as  ENG (0122) 270 - Adelphi in Florence: Experiencing the Italian Renaissance  or PFA (0192) 201 - Experiencing London Theatre , or an English internship (if taken for three credits) may be used as an English elective.
