Candidates for this degree must have completed at least 120 credits, 60 of which must be in the liberal arts. The final 30 credits must be taken in graded course work at the University, and no more than 60 of total credits may be awarded from prior learning. 36 credits in the major are required. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their area of concentration and a minimum GPA of 2.0 from Adelphi overall.

All University College bachelor’s degree programs (excepting the B.S. in Business, the B.S. in Criminal Justice, and the B.A. in Psychology), are completed by taking a sequence of two 4-credit capstone courses:

The Baccalaureate Capstone is an interdisciplinary seminar that examines how the ideas of the modern age have challenged and altered traditional ways of thinking. As an analysis of the seminal ideas of modernity as defined by the thinkers who originated them, the Baccalaureate Capstone will empower students to think about the world in new and exciting ways.
