The minor in Asian Studies offers a multidisciplinary approach to understanding a region that has played an important role throughout history and has emerged as one of the most economically dynamic and politically influential areas in the world. This comprehensive approach provides students a broad-based knowledge that integrates history, politics, economics, geography, anthropology, natural sciences, and culture, including film, art, and music.

Students will have the opportunity to study some of the following countries:

East Asia—China, Japan, and Korea
Southeast Asia—Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore and Cambodia
South Asia—India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka
Southwest Asia—Iran and Iraq
Central Asia—Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
