Students will examine current theories of speech production (linguistically-based theories, target, timing, and feedback models), speech perception (motor theories, auditory theories). Students will evaluate the evidence supporting these theories (studies of language acquisition, acoustics, speech synthesis, neurophysiology of speech production and perception, and speech and hearing disorders).
