PHI (0154) 330 - Existentialism and European Thought


Credits: 3.00

Students examine how Existentialist Philosophers (e.g. Sartre, Heidegger, and Camus) and more recent European thinkers (e.g. Derrida, Gadamer, and Foucault) grapple with longstanding philosophical problems (e.g. the meaning of human existence, standards of ethics, and the meaning of truth in science, literature and history) from a contemporary anti-foundationalist standpoint.
