ENG (0122) 601 - Manhattan Week


Credits: 2.00

MFA students will attend craft talks, readings, and thesis consultations with core faculty. Students will also attend Centerpiece Classes with esteemed members of the literary community. Students will expand their professional networks and avail themselves of New York’s literary and cultural offerings. This week-long, in-person course must be taken twice.

Course Learning Goals: By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. produce and revise individual creative pieces or completed manuscripts for publication
  2. submit their critical writing, reviews, and interviews for publication
  3. present conference-ready presentations of their own creative work and research
  4. gain an in-depth understanding of each faculty member’s approach to the writing, research, editing, and publishing processes
  5. network with and pitch their in-progress manuscripts to publishers
