COM (0108) 305 - Creating the Podcast: Audio Storytelling


Credits: 3.00

Students will explore the fundamental aspects of podcasting and audio storytelling, including interviewing, scriptwriting, performing, and editing podcasts.  Students will design, produce, and publish a feature-length podcast on a subject of their choice.

Repeatable: No Grade Type: Regular or Pass/Fail
Course Learning Goals: Students will:

analyze and critique a variety of distinct audio storytelling styles and production forms;

record and edit audio obtained from multiple types of sources (voice, music, “wild” sounds), using professional audio recording equipment and editing software;

write, revise, and record podcast scripts;

tell stories in careful and deliberate ways;

experiment with their own style and approach to storytelling;

prepare for a professional podcasting environment
