CSC (0145) 595 - Research Methods in Computer Science


Credits: 3.00

Students will be able to find and analyze scientific publications in the computer science domain. Students will study how the scientific method works, and how to execute a scientific research project. Students will begin exploring research ethics and obtain institutional research board certification.

Course Learning Goals: After completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1.     Explain the stages of the scientific method
  2.     Find and analyze scientific publications using structured methods
  3.     Formulate a research question and hypothesis
  4.     Design an experiment, execute it, and analyze results
  5.     Disseminate findings
