Students will examine how gender and gendered discourse permeate the Western philosophical canon to investigate how the structures of our thought and experience work to maintain the â€œotheringâ€ of females/femininity. Students will focus on the intersection of gender with race, class, and sexuality in history, current events, and popular culture.
