NUR (0302) 764 - Advanced Physical Assessment Across the Lifespan

Students critically review and analyze health assessment as a model for the development of diagnostic reasoning skills. A regional approach to physical examination will be used to develop critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Legal and ethical components of client interaction are included, as well as communication and leadership skills.

Prerequisite 1: NUR 763 and NUR 756
Corequisite: NUR 755

Understand the importance between objective and subjective data collection in relation to advanced physical assessment.
Apply critical thinking in formulating differential diagnosis and utilize evidence-based practice.

Understand the common variations of normal and selected abnormalities within the body systems across the lifespan.
