Couple Therapy Certificate

Courses in this program are based on a synthesis of psychoanalytic and systemic models to prepare the contemporary couples’ therapist to provide effective treatment. Coursework, case seminars and supervision offer a strong theoretical and technical foundation preparing clinicians to address a wide range of issues in couple treatment.

Admission Requirements


Applicants should complete an online application. CV and personal statement are  required to complete the application. Applicants should arrange to send transcripts and two letters of recommendation directly to Adelphi. The applicant will be contacted for a personal interview.

Program Requirements


  • Satisfactory completion of course work shown below.
  • 100 hours of supervision 
  • 120 hours of couple treatment
  • A graduation paper demonstrating candidate’s integration of theory and technique

Curriculum


Please note that these courses provide Continuing Professional Education credits, not graduate credits. Each credit represents 6 hours of class time.
