The Master of Science in Emergency Management degree is a 39 credit program that culminates in an emergency management capstone research project and presentation. This degree program has been designed for working professionals who need to fit course work around their busy life and career responsibilities. Students study part time in the evenings and can complete the program in two calendar years by taking three courses a semester.

Students complete 30 core program credit requirements by completing required emergency management courses through University College and required management courses through the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business. Students then choose from one of three elective tracks: Environmental, Health or Government. Students then complete the program by preparing and presenting a comprehensive research paper in the summative Capstone course.
