Advanced Certificate in Technology and Open Education
The Advanced Certificate in Technology and Open Education is a 15-credit post-baccalaureate program which explores how digital technology and the Internet are changing the ways we think about and practice teaching and learning. Candidates in the program study the theoretical and pedagogical foundations of open education: they look at ways that technology can be used to reach new audiences of learners and to incorporate a broader spectrum of learning materials and practical experiences into their teaching. In particular, they study how open courseware, Free and Open Source Software, open video, e-texts, and other open education resources (OERs) can be integrated into powerful teaching experiences. Candidates participate in online communities to collaboratively producing high quality educational materials which are freely available to use or modify. Note:
