Candidates for the Master of Arts in Health Education should have an undergraduate background in health or health-related areas. When candidates have degrees in other areas they may be required as part of the program to complete course work in addition to the requirements of the graduate program: human biology (anatomy and physiology), health-related courses, and education courses.

There are two plans of study offered:

  1. The GATE Program  is open to students holding no certification in health education or certification in another area.
  2. The regular Master’s  is open to students who already have initial/provisional teacher certification in health education.
