The Masters of Arts in Educational Technology, Pre K-12 prepares teachers who hold a valid New York State teaching certificate to become certified Educational Technology Specialists. Candidates learn to teach, design, and develop powerful learning experiences, enhanced by the latest digital technologies. Students gain field experience by working in two different Pre K-12 school settings. In these placements, they will collaborate with school faculty to infuse the curriculum with technology, teach new media and technology classes for students, and collaborate with school leaders and staff to use technology to enhance student achievement.

Requirements for the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Technology, K-12


Additional Requirements for Program Completion/State Certification


  • Maintenance of 3.0 GPA in all program coursework
  • All teacher certification candidates must take and pass the New York State Teacher’s Certification Examinations (NYSTCE) required for their particular area of certification which includes the Content Specialty Test in Educational Technology Specialist
