PIA (0501) 381 - Practicum in Clinical Psychology

This supervised fieldwork course will explore child development and pedagogical theories of early

childhood education at the Alice Brown Early Learning Center at Adelphi University. A classroom

teacher will supervise the students and facilitate the observations necessary to complete a child case

study. This case study will attempt to foster an understanding of the observed child’s learning,

language development, developmental milestones, and the impact of family, culture, peers, and school

on his/her child development. Depending on the setting, activities involve perceptual-motor training,

behavior modification, and active therapies. This course trains students in understanding the beginning

stages of counseling

GNA (0133) 101 - World of Ideas II

PIA (0501) 399 - Comprehensive Assessment Portfolio (CAP)

Free Note: This is a capstone course - open to seniors only. This class requires 24 hrs of outside field experience. Departmental approval required to register for this course. Fulfills (SEA) requirement. One time psychology liability insurance.
