BIO (0105) 440 - Biology of Aging


Credits: 3.00

Students will evaluate biological principles that determine why organisms age and how long they will live. They will discuss the molecular, cellular and physiological changes that happen when organisms age and the diseases associated with aging.

Prerequisite 1: BIO 111  and BIO 112  
At the completion of this course students will be able to:

1.    Describe key principles in the field of Biology of Aging
2.    Distinguish and recognize the different theories that are postulated to explain why organisms age and how they age
3.    Search for, collect, and evaluate scientific research articles and experiments relating to topics of interest in Biology of Aging
4.    Orally present a topic in Biology of Aging
