SPY (0504) 639 - Dissertation Overview Seminar


Credits: 1.00

Students will learn the dissertation proposal requirements and processes and will work on developing a dissertation proposal.  They will learn how to structure a dissertation proposal, how to develop a dissertation topic and how to organize the literature review section.  Research methodologies and IRB requirements will be reviewed.  

Course Learning Goals: In this course students will:

  1. Gain knowledge about the components of and processes involved with the dissertation and dissertation proposal. DSK: Research Methods, Statistical Analysis, and Psychometrics. PWC: Research; Ethical and Legal Standards.
  2. Produce complete drafts of the following major components of the dissertation proposal: Literature Review, Questions/Hypotheses, and Statement of the Problem. DSK: Research Methods, Statistical Analysis, and Psychometrics. PWC: Research; Ethical and Legal Standards.
  3. Establish a timeline to complete to complete a successful dissertation proposal. DSK: Research Methods, Statistical Analysis, and Psychometrics. PWC: Research; Ethical and Legal Standards.
