CSC (0145) 360 - Human-Computer Interaction


Credits: 3.00

Students will study the theories and practices of developing highly usable interfaces that provide meaningful, consistent, useful, and enjoyable interactions. Students will engage with and acquire skills in user-centered design, human cognitive and physical capabilities, prototyping and evaluation techniques, design fundamentals, and emerging areas such as novel computer interfaces.

Prerequisite 1: CSC 171  
Course Learning Goals:
  • Learn human capabilities and their implications for system performance.
  • Develop task analysis and user analysis skills to understand human-computer interactions and the needs and abilities of users.
  • Learn usability principles, evaluation methods, and measurements.
  • Gain exposure to user interface design concepts and strategies for making design decisions.
  • Gain a background in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and develop skills in user interface design tools and techniques.
  • Explore and be able to develop interactive prototyping using mockup and wireframe tools.
