MTH (0144) 432 - Analysis II

Credits: 3.00

This course continues 0144-431, with an emphasis on the fundamental notions of modern analysis. Students will understand sequences and series of functions, Fourier series, equicontinuity and the Arzela-Ascoli theorem, the Stone-Weierstrass theorem. Students will investigate functions of several variables, the inverse and implicit function theorems, introduction to the Lebesgue integral.

Prerequisite 1: MTH 431
Course Learning Goals: Students will continue to develop a rigorous understanding of calculus.

Students will refine ideas of convergence from Analysis I and extend these ideas to sequences of functions and infinite series.

Students will develop a deep understanding of the Riemann Integral.
