SPH (0878) 682 - Telepractice in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology


Credits: 3.00

Students will learn common practices and techniques for the provision of telepractice services for clients of all ages in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Students will engage in hands-on learning and actively participate in projects that enhance learning of how to incorporate telepractice into their future careers.

Upon completion of the course, students will:

  1. setup remote technological modes of communication.
  2. explain the appropriate assessment and therapeutic modifications that accommodate client needs in a remote setting. 
  3. maintain client confidentiality in all settings, especially online.
  4. troubleshoot technology obstacles to provide services that are at a high level and seamless in delivery. 
  5. instruct caregivers and support personnel in carryover and reinforcement of skills that can be measured consistently to maintain quality of service.
