Throughout the course we will consider how the analyst’s participation, expressed through theory, technique, countertransference and personal presence, functions to elicit, engage and transform the patient’s most problematic relational scenarios. The principal aim of this course will be to help candidates develop a facility for noticing, highlighting and productively using the transference-countertransference interactions engendered in their clinical work.
