SPA (0172) 522 - Phonetics and Phonology: Spanish in the World


Credits: 3

This course introduces students to the transatlantic history of Spanish and examines the concept of regional variation from synchronic and diachronic points of view. Students will learn to transcribe Spanish phonetically and phonologically using International Phonetic Alphabet, learn about Spanish in the world, and think critically about their own Spanish.
